Ring Toss - Get 10 cans of soda, and line them up in either a pyramid shape, or a square cluster. Then get an object, like a bracelet that will fit around the can, and stand about 5 feet away from the cans. Try to throw the "ring" so that it goes right around one of the cans. If that is too easy, try standing back farther. (You may need to put water or sand in the cans so that they do not fall over after every toss). Jump Rope - What different skills can you do with the jump rope? Jump twice with only one swing, cross the rope, cross and hold the rope, how long can you go without messing up? How many crosses can you complete in a minute? Bull's Eye Bounce - Make a target on the ground with chalk or tape about 6 feet from a wall. Assign points to different sections of the target, making the sections closest to the center worth the most points. Bounce the ball off the wall and see how close you can get to the center of the target. Continue until you finally hit the Bull's Eye.

Water-Carriers - Each player has a designated chair with a bowl of water and a spoon on it. A few steps away there are two more chairs with an empty glass on each of them. The object is to fill the empty glass with water as soon as possible. The player who is the first to do it is the winner. Catch with a Twist - You start off with a tennis ball and throw the ball continuously back and forth until somebody drops the ball. If no one drops the ball after one minute, the players can move farther apart. When someone drops the ball, the other person says "Down on one knee". That person has to drop to one knee and continue throwing the ball back and forth. Let's say the same person drops it a second time. Then you say "Down on two knees". If the same person drops the ball again you say "Down on one elbow", "Down on two elbows" and finally "Down on your chin." If you drop it after that you are out. But remember - you have to stay in the position you're in to catch and throw the ball. What's Behind the Back? - Both players get a piece of paper and right a number between 1 and 100 on the paper. You could add a picture beneath the number too. Then, each person tapes the piece of paper to their back. Now, everyone hops on one foot and tries to discover the number and/or picture on the other person's back. The first person to figure out what is on the other person's back is the winner! Balloon Jacks - Throw a balloon in the air, then try as hard as possible to keep the balloon in the air for as long as possible. Once it touches the ground, the round is over. Count the number of hits you and your partner use to keep the balloon off the ground. Hotter/Colder - This is a hiding game. One person is the hider, and one is the seeker. First pick a designated object to hide. This can be anything small like a little stuffed animal, a ball. Be creative. Now, the hider places the object somewhere around the room while the seeker counts to 50 in another room with his/her eyes shut. This is when the seeker comes into the room to try to find the object. The hider's job is to tell the seeker if they are close or far from the object. If the seeker is close, then they would be "hot". Likewise, if they are far, they would be "cold". If the seeker is very close they are "burning" and very far, they are "freezing". Once the seeker finds the object, switch turns and now the hider is the seeker and the seeker is the hider.

Land or Water? - Everyone forms a line and there is a designated leader. The leader will scream out the word "land" and the players jump forward. On hearing the word "water", the players jump backward. Then the word "land" is suddenly changed into "bank", “soil†“plants†or “earthâ€. The actions of the players must be the same as after the word "land". The word "water" may be changed into "sea", "lake", "river", etc. The player who often makes a mistake is out. Spud - All players form a circle and count off (they must remember their number.) One player is chosen to be "it" and is given a playground ball. S/he throws the ball high up into the air and calls out another player's number. Everybody runs away except for the player with that number. S/he must run to the ball. When s/he gets the ball, s/he calls, "Spud!" very loudly. Everybody must freeze when they hear, "Spud!" Then, the player with the ball can take two big steps towards any player and throw the ball at him/her. If that player is hit by the ball, s/he becomes "it." If not, the player who called "Spud!" is "it." Carrot - Everyone sits in a circle. One person stands in the center of the circle. This Person is called " It". Each person asks the person who is "it" an appropriate question. The only answer to every question has to be answered as " Carrot ". The first person to make the center person laugh or answer anything but “carrot†wins a try in the middle. Ex: What color is your hair? Carrot. What do you brush your teeth with? Carrot. Capture the Flag - This game must be played in a large area, and is best played in two backyards or a park. With a large group of people, split into two even teams. If playing in two backyards, one backyard must belong to each team. If playing in a wide open space, divide the space in half. Each team needs an item (a Frisbee, shoe, flag, ball, etc.) to have as their "Flag". Each team must then hide their "flag" far apart from each other on their team's side. The purpose of this game is to capture the other team's flag and bring it back to your team's side. When on the other team's side, you may be tagged and then you must go to "jail". The only way to be released from jail is to have a team member run and break all the "inmates" free. The game is won when a member of one team successfully captures the other team's flag and brings it back to their side. Hula Hoop Challenge - Split into two equal teams and make a line holding hands with the people next to you. The first person in line holds a hula hoop. The challenge is to pass the hula hoop from the beginning of the line to the end of the line holding hands the whole time. The team to get the hula hoop to the end of the line first is the winner. Red Light/Green Light - One person is the caller. They stand in one spot with all other players standing far away from them. The Caller will then say one of two commands, either "Red Light" or "Green Light". "Green Light" means go, while "Red Light" means stop. The Caller will say "Green Light" with their backs facing the players. When they say "Red Light" they turn around to look at the players. The players must freeze. If the Caller catches a player moving, the Caller can send them back to where they started. The first person to reach the Caller is the winner, and they get to be the caller for the next game.
